Finally losing Inches, too!

Finally all of this surgery swelling and liquid is going down bc I'm finally losing inches! 4 inches and 24 pounds down! 

Rough day

Having a rough day today. Just feel sick... Not like anything having to do with my surgery sick, but an exhausted tummy ache sick. Hope this passes soon! 

Oatmeal

It's so nice to be able to eat oatmeal! :) 

Update

It's been a few days so its time for an update! Got home from the hospital and took a long uninterrupted nap which made me feel so much better! Bart ran to the store and bought me a few soups and other small items that i was allowed to have while I slept and my step mom stayed home with me and helped clean up my house some. She was such a huge help while she was here!! She even made me some vegetable stock from vegetables so I didn't have to drink the nasty store bought kind! Since I was doing much better Monday she left Tuesday morning and headed home. I really really appreciate everything she did for Bart and I!!!! 

I stopped taking my pain meds on Monday night and I've been doing great without them! I feel so great right now, it's awesome! 

I'm sick of eating the same few things; yogurt, apple sauce, broth, etc. but I just left the doctor and they said I can start with a little bit thicker of stuff! Yay! Broccoli cheese soup from Panera it is!! 

My BMI has changed from a 44 to a 41, and my weight has gone from 286 to 267! 

FEELING GREAT!!! 

Also a huge huge thanks to my husband!!! He's my rock!!! He's been by my side non stop and he's helped me more than I could ever explain!! God sent me him years ago and I got to marry my best friend!! 

Our son has been at my moms house since the night before my surgery and e comes home tomorrow!!! I can't wait!! Another huge thanks to my mom and step dad for watching him!! 

I'm so blessed with so many great family and friends! I'm truly blessed! Thanks so much to everyone for all of the prayers, texts, messages and phone calls!!

Sunday!

Sunday, and feeling great! Thanks so so much for all of the prayers! I was able to drink and eat a lot more this morning than I have been since surgery! I feel great!! Hope it stays this way! :) 

First protein shake

A little scare

Had a little bit of a scare last night from my oxygen levels going down. Glad to be home and in my own bed! I'm

Everyone on this floor is a "fall risk" and we all have to wear these to remind us to not get up without help, lol

Veins

Got this one the day of surgery and its been burning... 

Tried this one and it wouldn't work... 

So now it's on the inside of the middle of my arm. Ouch! 

Keeping track

So far so good :) 

Drinking for the first time

Drank liquids for the first time! 20ml total: 15 apple juice and 5 peach protein. The protein is so gross! Even mixed with mostly apple juice! So my step mom and husband are going out to try to find me something that tastes a little bit better, lol 

My angel <3

One of the ladies in my doctors office makes one of these Angels for every single patient for their surgery! So sweet! 

My hospital room is a mansion

My hospital room is a mansion! I seriously think its bigger than my bedroom at home! Not the best pics, but here are a few...

I was able to get the catheter out this morning, get cleaned up and put on comfy clothes that I brought instead of the hospital gown! Just these little things made me feel so much better! Also went on another walk in the hallway, it feels so great to get up an walk! Didn't get much sleep last night bc the nurses came in every two hours and bc of beeping machines so I may nap some today

This is my blog to look back on my journey, so ill be adding a lot of personal stuff to it.  Here's my belly shortly after surgery. I have six incisions, I only got a pic of five of them in this picture. 

Pager

They had this really awesome pager set up for Bart to see steps throughout the surgery. Super neat! Great hospital! 

Walking

I walked a lap in the hallway tonight! It felt really great to be able to do that! So thankful for my awesome support team and the really nice hospital staff! 

Wires

Bc of all the wires and catheter I can only sleep on my left side. Gonna regret that in the morning! Hopefully I can get it taken out in 2 1/2 more hours like planned! Ill be a lot more comfortable and be able to sleep a lot better! 

Ice!

Finally got some ice... I just ate one piece and I'm gonna see how it does in my stomach for a little while before I do any more :) 

A few hours after surgery

I've slept most the day. It's a weird pain, it's not really pain pain just sore if that makes sense. So thankful for Bart and my step mom being here! Thanks for all the prayers everyone! 

Tomorrow!

I can't believe my surgery is tomorrow!! My early alarm is set and I'm all packed and ready to go!!! 

I'm on an all clear liquid diet today. I thought it was gonna be horrible, but it's not bad at all! 

My new life begins in 13 1/2 hours!!!!
